Ball Bearings
Single-row deep groove ball bearings in the 6000, 6200 and 6300 series — the most widely used bearing type in general machinery, and the one most maintenance stores keep on the shelf. They carry radial load with a useful amount of axial load in either direction, run at high speed, and need no adjustment on fitting.
What separates the three series is the section: for the same bore, a 6300 has a larger outside diameter and width than a 6200, and a 6200 more than a 6000. So the series is chosen by how much load has to be carried in the housing space available, not by preference. A 6205 and a 6305 both fit a 25 mm shaft, but the 6305 takes substantially more load in return for a bigger housing bore.

How to choose
The shaft fixes the bore, so the real decision is the series. Work out the radial load and the hours you need between replacements, then pick the lightest series that meets it — a heavier series costs more, needs a bigger housing, and runs slower. Only then choose the seal. If you are replacing a bearing that failed early, check the housing fit and shaft shoulder before assuming a heavier series is the answer; a bearing fitted into an oversized housing bore fails regardless of its rating.

Is a 6205 interchangeable with a 6305?
Only on the shaft. Both fit a 25 mm bore, but the 6305 has a larger outside diameter and width, so it needs a different housing. Check the housing bore before ordering the heavier series.
Can I fit a sealed bearing where an open one was?
Usually yes, and it is normally an improvement in a dusty environment. Check the width matches and that nothing in the assembly relied on grease flowing through the bearing.
Do you supply stainless bearings for food equipment?
Available to order. State whether the requirement is corrosion resistance only or full food-contact compliance, because those lead to different grades and different grease.
