The choice is usually driven by the material being cut and the machine's spindle capability rather than by price alone.
We publish the full dimensional set for every tool — cutting diameter, shank diameter, overall length, flute length, flute count, coating and substrate — to the governing standard, which for metric end mills is DIN 6527 L, for jobber drills DIN 338, for machine taps DIN 371 and DIN 376, and for machine reamers DIN 212. That matters because a tool is only interchangeable with another if those numbers match, and most Egyptian suppliers publish none of them.
A carbide cutter run at HSS speeds is an expensive HSS cutter. If your machine cannot turn a 10 mm carbide end mill at three to four thousand rpm with rigid holding, HSS is the better buy and we will say so.

How to choose
Material group first. Aluminium wants a two- or three-flute cutter with a polished or uncoated flute, because a coated four-flute tool will pack with chips and weld aluminium to its edge. Steel and stainless want four flutes and a coating — TiAlN for its hot hardness. Then diameter and reach: use the shortest tool that will reach the floor of the cut, because deflection rises with the cube of the overhang, so halving stick-out reduces it eightfold. Then whether the machine can turn it fast enough to use the tool properly.

What coating should I use for aluminium?
None. Use an uncoated, polished-flute cutter. TiAlN contains aluminium and has an affinity for it, so on aluminium a TiAlN-coated tool promotes the built-up edge it is meant to prevent. Save the coated tools for steel and stainless.
What is the difference between a two-flute and a four-flute end mill?
Chip room against finish and rigidity. Two flutes give large gullets that clear soft, sticky material; four flutes give more cutting edges per revolution, a better finish and more radial support, but less room for chips. Aluminium takes two or three, steel takes four.
Do you supply metric and imperial shanks?
Metric as standard, since that is what the overwhelming majority of Egyptian workshops hold collets and holders for. Imperial shanks are available to order — send the designation and we will confirm the lead time.
