Description

A 50 mm indexable face mill taking five APKT 1604 inserts at a 90° approach angle, for facing and for shoulder milling where the wall must come out square to the floor. A 90° cutter puts the cutting force along the tool axis rather than into the work, which is what makes it the right choice on thin-walled parts and on less rigid machines. Mounts on a 22 mm arbor. Replacing a worn edge means indexing the insert rather than regrinding the cutter, which is the whole economic argument for indexable tooling at production volumes.
