Description

A cobalt-alloyed HSS-E machine tap for cutting M4 coarse internal threads under power, in a tapping head, a rigid-tapping spindle or a tapping attachment. The tap drill size for a nominal 65% thread engagement is 3.3 mm — drilling undersize is the usual reason taps break, because thread engagement above about 75% multiplies torque for almost no gain in joint strength. Spiral point for through holes; use a spiral flute version in blind holes so the chip is pulled back out of the hole.
