Power, control, instrumentation and flexible cable by cross-section, conductor class and sheath. Supplied by the metre or on full drums.
Cross-section is only half the specification. The other half is conductor class under IEC 60228, and it decides whether the cable survives its installation: class 1 is solid, class 2 stranded for fixed installation, class 5 and 6 are progressively finer strands for repeated flexing. Using a class 2 cable where the run flexes produces a cable that works for months and then fails intermittently as individual strands break inside intact insulation — one of the hardest faults to trace in a machine.
Sheath material is the third decision. PVC is cheap and adequate indoors; PUR resists oil and abrasion and is what a drag chain needs; silicone and glass-braid handle heat near ovens and furnaces. In Egyptian outdoor installations, UV resistance matters more than most specifications allow for — unprotected PVC becomes brittle in a couple of seasons of direct sun.

How to choose
Current and run length give the cross-section; check voltage drop and do not stop at the current rating. Then conductor class by whether and how often the cable moves — class 5 or 6 for anything that flexes, and never a solid conductor where there is movement. Then the sheath against oil, heat and sunlight. Then count the cores you actually need and add a spare pair; pulling a new cable later costs vastly more than the spare cores do now.

What is the difference between class 2 and class 5 conductors?
Strand count and therefore flexibility. Class 2 is stranded for fixed installation; class 5 has many finer strands and tolerates repeated bending. Class 5 or 6 for anything that moves — class 2 in a flexing run fails internally with the insulation still intact.
Do you supply cable cut to length?
Yes, by the metre, and on full drums where the quantity justifies it. Drum prices are usually better per metre, so send the total length across all runs before deciding.
What sheath for outdoor use in Egypt?
UV-stabilised, and preferably in conduit or tray. Standard PVC embrittles and cracks within a couple of seasons of direct sun here, and once the sheath cracks the insulation is next.
