Description
A short BT40 to ER25 collet chuck for small-diameter cutters, drills and taps. The 70 mm gauge length keeps the tool close to the spindle nose, and a short tool deflects far less than a long one — deflection rises with the cube of overhang, so halving the stick-out cuts it by eight times. Use this rather than the ER32 chuck whenever the cutter is small enough, particularly for finishing passes where the deflection shows up directly as a wall that is not square.
